Community dialogues and roundtables
Beginning this summer, multiple engagement opportunities were held across the province on skilled trades certification. These opportunities included public roundtable discussions led by a panel of trades experts, followed by a series of Indigenous-focused community dialogues. While roundtable discussions have concluded, Indigenous community dialogues will continue through mid-September.
These sessions were hosted virtually by third-party facilitators and are designed to solicit ideas and opinions that will help government better understand and respond to the diverse needs and perspectives of apprentices, workers and employers during the transition to skilled trades certification.
Through these sessions, we gained perspectives and insights directly from youth, Indigenous people, older workers, women, immigrants, and others who are under-represented in the trades.
