Application Instructions and Criteria

The Columbia Basin Regional Advisory Committee has an opening for one citizen representative from Creston or nearby communities. Residents with knowledge of, and expertise in, the Columbia Basin and Basin interests who would like to inform potential future improvements to the Columbia River Treaty and regional hydroelectric operations are invited to submit a short application before 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, December 21, 2025. Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the CBRAC Terms of Reference before applying.

How to Apply

Submit a one-to-two-page expression of interest before 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on Sunday, December 21, 2025, explaining how you meet the following criteria:

Required:

  • Lives in Creston or nearby communities.
  • Has knowledge of and/or experience working on Columbia Basin and Basin-related interests.
  • Is able to work collaboratively in a group setting.

Preference may be given to applicants with:

  • Knowledge of the Columbia River Treaty.
  • Previous participation in Columbia River Treaty related activities, such as attending public meetings, forums or conferences, and providing feedback on Treaty-related reports or projects.
  • Recognized in Columbia Basin communities as knowledgeable in one or more key areas of Columbia River Treaty related interests identified by Basin residents, including environmental impacts and enhancement, salmon restoration, flood risk management, hydropower generation, agriculture, recreation, tourism, and economic development.

Commitment

The Committee meets virtually approximately every two to three months and, in-person, one to two times per year when there is need for face-to-face discussion.  Travel and some associated costs will be reimbursed.
