In response to input received during a Columbia River Treaty Review public engagement meeting in Fauquier, B.C. in 2013, the Province of B.C. commissioned a study to explore the possibility of a more stable mid-elevation Arrow Lakes Reservoir hydro operation.

On September 12, 2016, the Province held another meeting in Fauquier to close the circle and share results with the surrounding communities. Approximately 95 people attended from Fauquier, Nakusp, Burton, Edgewood and Arrow Park. Discussion topics included how these scenarios could affect Arrow Lakes Reservoir recreation, fishing, ecology, shoreline properties and more.

The report was finalized in 2018, and reflects feedback received during this meeting, along with input from Columbia Basin Indigenous Nations and the Columbia Basin Regional Advisory Committee.
